Marianne Initiative for Human Rights Defenders!

The Marianne Initiative aims to enhance France’s attractiveness and support for human rights defenders worldwide, in line with the French "human rights and development" strategy.

🔹 Three Key Components:
1. International: Support for rights defenders and human rights organizations in their home countries.
2. National: Six-month residency in France with accommodation, grant, personalized capacity-building program, training, and networking activities for selected human rights defenders based on their commitment and potential threats they face.
3. Partnership: Engagement of institutional actors and civil society, coordinated by the Marianne Association, fostering synergies at national, European, and international levels.

Since its launch in December 2021, the Marianne Initiative has welcomed three cohorts of approximately fifteen human rights defenders to France.
