Visit of the French Ambassador for Human Rights in Bangladesh, François Zimeray, May 27-28
One month after the Savar accident which caused the death of more than 1100 people, François Zimeray, French Ambassador for Human Rights, has visited Bangladesh to meet victims’ families and express France’s solidarity.
French Ambassador for Human Rights, François Zimeray, visited some victims of the Rana Plaza at ENAM hospital, Savar, and discussed with some members of a rescue team.
In Dacca, Mr Zimeray met with the stakeholders in modernizing labour law and has recalled France’s commitment to compliance with the standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
On the occasion of his meetings with the authorities and the civil society, Mr Zimeray has raised all questions linked to human rights.
Ambassador Zimeray has been welcome by the Department of International relations of Dhaka University to give a conference on the theme of “Human Rights in the context of Globalisation”.
Lastly, a press conference was organized in Alliance française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi.
