The French International School of Dhaka (EFID)
Established in 1987, located in the diplomatic enclave on a plot of land it shares with the Franco-German Embassy, the French International School of Dhaka has made a reputation for itself in Dhaka and around the world thanks to its quality bilingual education.
The school is run by a School Board comprised of parents and supervised by the French Embassy, and is linked to the AEFE (Foreign French Teaching Agency) under the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs trusteeship.
The school has five French teachers from the French Ministry of Education, which guarantees a high quality program, thus meeting the French academic program requirements, and 2 certified American teachers implementing the English program.
The school serves children from two years of age to the Baccalaureate level (diploma) with developmentally appropriate learning.
From kindergarten, children are engaged in advanced level learning in both English and French.
The air-conditioned classrooms are spacious, colorful, and well appointed, including several with smart boards. The library is equipped with a bilingual book collection and a computer lab.
Class sizes have been kept small in order to favor a kind of “one on one” teaching approach, the true foundation for future individual learning. This philosophy is proving to be fruitful judging by our students’ results and their world-wide achievements.
