Bangladesh receives 2 006 100 doses of AstraZeneca donated by France
On November 29th, Bangladesh received a shipment of 2,006,400 AstraZeneca doses donated by France under the COVAX mechanism. Today, the hand-over ceremony was held in presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr A.K. Abdul Momen, Minister of Health Zahid Maleque, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and the Ambassador of France in Bangladesh Jean-Marin Schuh. UNICEF Bangladesh will ensure the distribution of the vaccines. Last April, France was the first country to share vaccine doses under the COVAX mechanism and has since committed to donating 120 million doses by the end of the first half of 2022.
