2013 Annual General Meeting of the FBAST
The FBAST (Franco-Bangladesh Association of Scholars and Trainees) was created in 1994 with the following main objectives: an exchange of experience between its members and the ability to continue to practice French, the organization of seminars involving the participation of experts of the two countries and thus the promotion of scientific, technical and economic exchanges between France and Bangladesh.
The association has organized one or two times a year seminars on important topics in Bangladeshi society sometimes directly related to the news: the contamination of groundwater with arsenic, on effluent treatment in tanneries, on wastewater management or on air pollution.
The 2013 Annual General Meeting was held at the Alliance française de Dhaka and was attended by HE Mr. Michel Trinquier, Ambassador of France in Bangladesh and Olivier Litvine, director of the Alliance française de Dhaka.
Mr. Akram Ullah Sikder became president to replace Mr. Liaquat Ali Khan, and Mr. Zilhurain Jaigirdar is the new General Secretary in place of Mr. Serajuddin, now vice president of the association.
